Firefly - SOLD
Hand made paper adds the sense of movement to this leaping flame. A second mixed media piece which had a 'try this and see if it works' approach plus a 'now leave it alone' command!
Night Flight - dance sculpture
A bit different in style - playing with texture and focusing on shape rather than detail. This was great fun to do! Very freeing to work in this way. I should do more like this.
Leap of Joy - SOLD
Based on the fabulous Cuban Osiel Gouneo, who always looks like he's having so much fun when he dances. His leaps and pirouettes are mind bogglingly accomplished.
Double rainbow - SOLD
My first piece using mixed media and I pick a duo! A looser style but it was a challenge to keep it that way - leaving out the detail and letting the shapes do the talking. I'll do more like this.

Hold Tight
I love rhythmic ball routines which show a variety of methods to move and capture the apparatus with the gymnast's amazing flexibility. This piece is both elegant and eye catching.
Hand in Hand
An acro mixed pair showing the fine tuned awareness of each other's position that makes this balance so amazing.
Earth to Mars NFS
I made this after watching Space X launch the Falcon Heavy in 2018. Seems they have a plan for Mars and this little one is also about stretching the limits and pointing the way!
Enter the big top! Hand balancers, aerialists and contortionists with eye catching skills.
At Ease - acrobat sculpture
A basic warm up stretch with a nice variation. Based on a vaguely remembered image of a young Soviet gymnast on the beam many years ago. It's all about gentle curves to make a pleasing shape.
Twist n Turn
A delicate little piece of an artfully balanced cirque artiste. The performer initiates the block's rotation while holding this all the while. I just love seeing this kind of control and have always appreciated this beautiful shape.

Elementals - mixed media spirits of the Earth
Spirit of the Ocean SOLD
Dancing on the water, she is clothed in the colours of the sea with with hints of seaweed and foam flecks. The base has sand texture around the bottom edge. Mixed media in wire, modrock, paper pulp and handmade paper.
Spirit of the Heavens
Clothed in stars amidst the deepest purple and black, she dances through a spiral galaxy holding the sun and moon aloft. Mixed media in wire, modrock, paper pulp, handmade paper and polystyrene.
Fyre Spryte SOLD
Sparks and ash combine in red, yellow, orange and black. This spryte leaps and twirls above a campfire as a new spark emerges from her hand. Mixed media in wire, modrock, paper pulp and handmade paper.
